EVE THE FIRST

A Marble Trilogy of Creation, Fall, and Consciousness

An independent cultural project presented for international institutional collaboration.

THE PROJECT

“Eve the First” is a transdisciplinary sculptural project, executed entirely in marble, conceived to be presented not as a conventional exhibition, but as an international cultural proposition.

The trilogy constitutes a global first in the history of visual representations of Genesis. For the first time, the figure of Eve is rendered with full theological and biblical precision, without a face, embodying the archetypal human condition prior to historical and individual differentiation.

“Eve the First” does not reinterpret a familiar narrative; it revises the global iconographic vocabulary surrounding human origins. The project proposes a new cosmological and anthropological reading, in which material form functions as a bearer of consciousness, memory, and history.

THE TRILOGY

The work unfolds as a unified trilogy articulated in three interconnected stages, forming a coherent theological and cultural drama:

▧ CREATION - Eve before the Fall

Eve is presented in a state of primordial unity without a face. She embodies human nature prior to division, individuation, and historical identity.

▧ FALL - The Ontological Emergence of Deception

The Fall is not depicted as narrative, but as an ontological condition. This stage explores the moment when beauty turns against its own light.

▧ CONSCIOUSNESS – Eve Bearing History

Eve appears as the bearer of history itself. The womb becomes the site where life and death coexist, where love and disobedience, birth and responsibility, are held together.

Material & Concept

The choice of marble is not materialistic, but deeply conceptual. Marble operates as a medium of historical continuity and cultural memory, linking contemporary creation with the long durée of Mediterranean and global artistic tradition.

In Eve the First, matter does not merely serve form; it becomes spiritual material, through which sculptural practice functions as an act of consciousness.

Cultural Positioning

The project is conceived as a long-term cultural legacy, capable of activating dialogue between:
▸ art history
▸ theology
▸ philosophy
▸ and contemporary cultural thought

Institutional Collaboration

“Eve the First” is addressed to museums, universities, theological schools, and international cultural institutions interested in works that do not simply add to exi sting frameworks, but fundamentally redefine them.

THE CONCEPT

A Trilogy of Creation, Fall, and Consciousness

A cross-disciplinary project of theological and artistic innovation

Concept & Sculpture: Nikos Katris

Inspired by the biblical story of Adam and Eve, this sculpture is not a mere religious representation, but a radical artistic manifesto.
