Cave Gallery in Santorini is a vibrant artistic space of creativity and inspiration, where art meets the island’s unique volcanic landscape. The sculpture workshops are led by the sculptor Nikos Katris, while painting lessons are offered by his daughter, the painter Veronica Katris.
In the sculpture workshops, Nikos Katris introduces participants to the art of carving pumice stone — a natural material deeply connected to the geology and history of Santorini. Through step-by-step guidance, visitors learn the fundamental techniques of stone carving, discover how to “listen” to the material, and gradually reveal the form hidden within it. No previous experience is required; each session is adapted to the participant’s level and pace, offering a creative process that combines relaxation, focus, and personal expression.
At the same time, Veronica Katris offers painting lessons where visitors can explore color, light, and the unique atmosphere of the island. Through both contemporary and traditional techniques, participants draw inspiration from the Cycladic landscape and create their own artwork, capturing their personal view of Santorini.
